The art galleries present exhibitions and public programs of contemporary and traditional art of regional, national, and international significance. Visitors to these galleries can view stimulating and challenging works of art encompassing drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design, and photography. The galleries also feature the latest in interactive media and digital imagery.
The primary commitment of these art galleries is to serve as an educational resource through exhibitions by professional artists, students, and faculty of the Department of Visual Arts. The exhibition program also fosters the intellectual life of the greater university community through exhibitions and programs exploring the art and culture of global societies. In addition, the galleries are dedicated to exhibiting art and presenting programs of interest to the public. The galleries host a variety of events. One of the most inclusive events is its Grand Opening Celebration held at the beginning of each fall semester. Visitors have the opportunity to view the art in all three galleries while attending the opening receptions.
