Christmas isn’t about the gifts — it’s about the people you spend it with. You probably didn’t need us to tell you that, but the protagonists in Gift of the Magi 2.0 could probably use a reminder. Marietta’s New Theatre in the Square presents this adaptation of O. Henry’s timeless holiday fable by N. Emil Thomas for the 5th year in a row. Jim, an Atlanta streetcar driver struggling to make ends meet during the Atlanta Transit Strike of 1950, goes to great lengths to buy a Christmas gift for his wife Della, unaware that Della is going to similar lengths to afford a gift for him. This story of family, sacrifice and the blessings we take for granted is coming to Marietta’s Theatre in the Square this holiday season.
