About The Gold Rush Silent Film:  Charlie Chaplin’s whimsical take on the deprivations of the Yukon gold rush has lost none of its original appeal in the hundred years since its premiere. Described as Chaplin’s best film. Sometimes extremely sad and at others hilariously funny. Unbelievable special effects as a cabin with Charlie in it almost goes over a snow-covered cliff.
