The Shining is based on a book by Stephen King that is the story of a family who heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where a sinister presence influences the father (Jack Nicolson) into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from both past and present.  Directed by Stanley Kubrick, this is a movie not to miss.
