Marietta Parks, Recreation & Facilities announces that Atlanta’s own Drivin N Cryin will headline the City’s Independence Eve Concert on Friday, July 3, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the historic Marietta Square.

The concert kicks off Marietta’s beloved Fourth in the Park weekend and is part of the community’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Formed in Atlanta, Drivin N Cryin first took the stage in October 1985 at the legendary 688 Club. Known for their electrifying live performances and unique blend of Southern rock, folk, and punk influences, the band quickly built a loyal following throughout the Southeast. More than three decades later, founding members Kevn Kinney and Tim Nielsen continue to carry the band’s legacy forward. With a gold record, nine full-length albums, and several EPs, Drivin N Cryin remains a staple of the Southern rock scene. Their enduring story was also captured in the 2012 documentary Scarred but Smarter: Life n Times of Drivin’ N’ Cryin’.

Residents and visitors are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of FREE live music and patriotic celebrations as the city begins its Independence Day festivities.
